I am in the midst of final preparations for the school musical, "Alice in Wonderland" and it has been highly stressful. But, I think we'll be ready. At least it's stress for something I enjoy (mostly) and it ends up being very rewarding.
Dealing with future prison inmates... not so much. (Wow, I have some high expectations for some of the kids...)
Date: Today March 13th, Time: Right after school, Place: VJH hallway What: Another fight (yawn, these are becoming SOO old...)
Yep ladies and gentlemen, I broke up another fight. But this time a girl got away. I get the others to the office as I yell that the third one just left the building. Teachers pursue (the older female gym teacher and an intimidating English teacher). Girl's boyfriend joins in the run, proceeds to punch female gym teacher across the chest. English teacher grabs boyfriend and lifts him into the air, while the mother of the girl arrives gets out of her car and starts swearing up a storm at the teachers. Claiming he (the boyfriend) didn't hit the teacher...IDIOTS!!!!!!!
This is why it's hard and insane. They don't really prepare you for this stuff in your Educational Psychology classes in college. Did I really sign up for this?

Holy freakin crap... Talk about friday the 13th. And I agree, you should get paid way more!!
What happened to the days when parents would stand behind the teachers when the kids had done something wrong? Why do so many parents feel so strongly about defending their children even when they are acting like idiots? Strange. Best of luck to you. :)
An addition to this story... The police officer at our school and administration were informed of what happened to the female gym teacher and nothing was done! But, apparently the gym teacher plans to press charges. Never a dull moment!
AND...there was a fight in the courtyard outside my room during lunch today...I (luckily, since I'm not as tough as you, Kjersti) couldn't do much through my window but yell at one of the observers outside to go get the assistant principal, and send one of my kids to the office to tell them. Fun!!! I think maybe I won't feel too bad if they don't keep me next year...?
Those are some kids who will be future prison inmates if their parents don't WAKE UP!!! Holy mackeral!!
Oh my heck! I can't believe you are breaking up fights and everything! You're right they don't prepare you for that in college. Maybe a Breaking up Fights 101 needs to be taught or perhaps Martial Arts become part of the requirments. Way to be brave, I don't think I could do it! By the way your cast looks amazing! I wish I could come see your show! Good luck!!
